It's such a shame that so many game publishers these days push out mediocrity simply to sell to the masses instead of shooting for innovative designs and complex in game systems. It almost makes me want to play Eve, just to be able to experience the economy and complexity, but my puny laptop would commit Seppuku at the mere thought of such a game.
Dust was not immune to marketing issues that Destiny kinda experienced as well , whatever happened to all things CCP promised before the games release? Hardly anything came out of it. Really you can use the same argument the guy used to apply to Dust . CCP promised a lot of things which everyone should know what they were , but at the end it turned out the Dust was just a lobby shooter that really didn't do all the much different and in some cases worse than other lobby shooters on the PS3 and other platforms.
Anyway , the concept of dumbing down is usually confused with simplification which sometimes is used to get rid of certain mechanics or streamline them. Sometimes it is needed and really Eve has been doing that for awhile. |

And? That doesn't mean anything at all hardly any of the promise came about and all that's left is a lobby shooter that hardly anyone knows about anymore . It doesn't change the fact of what the game became and it won't change of what the game is in the future . Bungie understand they made mistakes especially with the story, but that doesn't change how the story is already. Admitting mistakes is a good thing, but correcting them is far more important . You can say CCP is attempting to do that, but the question is will it matter in the future? All they are really doing is balancing the already unbalanced game and after fanfeast Legion most likely will never come out on consoles anymore, thus leaving the fanbase the built behind, and to addition to that Legion may never even come out and Dust has a chance of shutting down.
But that wasn't really the what OP was saying, whatever that was applied to Destiny's "dumbing down" can and/or already happened with Dust. |

But that wasn't really the what OP was saying, whatever that was applied to Destiny's "dumbing down" can and/or already happened with Dust. It means there are always positives and you should look for them to balance the negative. Being negative 100% of the time is the fast path to heart ache, heart break, and heart attack. My hand to God, I know what I am talking about with life I have led. Also - admitting a problem is the first step to correcting the problem. Bungee hasn't done this yet if this video is true.
That's not what I'm saying . I am saying admitting mistakes is fine , but will it matter in CCP's case in the end in terms of Dust because of the scenario it is in now. The video is basically assumptions, speculation, and guess of what happened with Destiny in the end and with some parts speculation that some of the stuff was because of dumbing down and that was what the video was focused on. |
